Dearne Community Arts Festival 2019

This much anticipated event will be held on 28th September 2019 at the Astrea Academy (formerly Dearne ALC).

As part of this years festival a number of local groups and organisations will be creating a Mosaic at a number of sessions, to be held at different locations within Goldthorpe.  The aim of these sessions will be for each of the groups to complete a mosaic square which will form part of the border of the overall mosaic.  For the majority of groups, the square they design will be directly related to their group.  Local artist Ruth Waterworth will be assisting with the design of the mosaic.

There will be a launch workshop event to start the mosaic which will be held at Goldthorpe Pentacostal Church on 1st June 2019. 10.00 am until 13.00 pm.  The event is free and everyone is welcome to attend to see the design of the mosaic and to help get it started.

The finished mosaic will be exhibited at the festival and will be a celebration of our local community.

Goldthorpe and Bolton Big Local are proud to once again support the festival and a grant of £500 has been awarded to fund this mosaic project.
